I was born in 1952, and yes - i miss a lot of the old days. I think the 60's were best. Things were cheaper, we as kids used to amuse ourselves by building cubby/tree houses, catching tadpoles at the creek, etc. Now you have Sony Play stations, etc, and kids just do not want to play outdoors. Sometimes building a cubby/tree house these days can even get you into trouble. It was safe to walk to and from shops and school back then without the constant threat of being abducted or robbed/assaulted. And the music back then was fantastic, although a lot of it has thankfully been revised.I have a Son born 1980, who loves 60's/70's music. So does my Daughter who was born 1977. So in fact, life is what you make it - if you like the 60's/70's, start collecting things from that era. A lot of the songs these days are actually from that era, and have been revised. I have pleasure in collecting single records - i have 2,500. I have some doubles, and would be happy to help you start your own collection. Have a great day.

Check out the 70's Preservation Society.

I feel for you. I LOVE the music from the 60s and 70s but you know, we still have it. We have everything from those decades with us. All of it and more because we can look back and only see the good and take what we want without regrets of mistakes made back then. You and I are soooo lucky for being around now instead. Think of all the improvements we have from even the 70s!

the 70's were my teen years and, yes, some aspects were better. mostly social. but, I give you my word, the 60's and 70's were traumatic. 80's too, now that I think about it.
It looks to me that for all of human history that I am able to fathom, the general rule is the later, the better.
providing only that our civilization doesn't collapse from energy cut-off or world wide nuke exchange, or whatever, we are better off in the twent-first century than any other time.

I would rather have been born and lived in a time frame before Turtle Island became discovered by European and other Foreign Powers. can empathize with your unhappiness.
