"the republican party is staunchly pro-second ammendment" - an untrue statement. Didn't Rudy increase gun control in new york? didn't bush want to pass an assault weapons ban last year?

believe me they are trying, but the mainstream media likes the status quo. That is why they don't allow libertarian party in the debates.

Yes, now would be the perfect time, Most people are fed up with both the dems and the reps. If the libertarians would just get out there and start doing something about it, make their name known, educate the general public....things would change. Education removes ignorance...I sure wish they would start doing something and begin making some political noise loud enough for people to hear.

The Republican party is slowly being destroyed. The Libertarian is surely to become a major party in the United States.

The Republican Party once had a strong libertarian wing. They nominated Goldwater and Reagan. I think that libertarian wing is still there. Maybe there's a chance that Ron Paul will get the Republican nomination. If not, maybe he can be persuaded to run again as a Libertarian.

Well I would hope the majority of the Republican party is not authoritarian but I will say that with their leadership as ultra-authoritarian as it is it doesn't matter if most of party is or is not.

I think it is time for a third party to come in and wipe the mega, super right wing and the super mega left wing off the map so we can fix problems instead of argue

I cannot recall a period in my life when the republicans were not an authoritarian party. The dogma they worship has been the mindless patriarchal nonsense that has led us to the point we're in today.

I don't follow my public servants. They follow my wishes. Get the horse back in front of the cart first.

I don't agree with you that the Republicans are authoritarian, but yes, we do need a change in who and how government works. Televised debates? There are enough people out there who don't even know who our current dictator is. Why is that?

Yeah, I don't get it. What's up with them trying to push this down our throats when it's obvious that the American people do not want this bill the way it is??

"Now that the Republican party is mostly authoritarian"

That's a false statement.

The Republican party is staunchly pro-2nd Amendment, a libertarian position.
