I live in the USA and have some German ancestry, and so I have made an effort to find something about Germany to love. There's nothing wrong with the language (I learned a little in high school). My favorite thing about Germany that I know about is the Glockenspiel clock, with the red & blue knights jousting. To me it represents the good vs. the evil in each country, not just between countries. I have never been to Germany. I think that the USA should take care of its neo-Nazi and neo-Confederate problem and stop pointing its finger at the horrible things that Germans did 60 years ago. "Never again" means NOWHERE else ever again, not just "Never again in Germany." I heard y'all had a "love festival" a few years ago, hopefully that meant love for everybody, not just WASPs. Keep the good things about Germany, and never forget & don't repeat the bad things.

Let me see, its all to the extent...

1) Do you hang posters of Germany over your bed and wish to make sweet love to it?

2) Do you constantly drive by or fly over Germany to see what it is doing?

3) Do you belive that you and Germany have a "secret-special" love that others can't see?

4) Do you have an insatiable longing either to possess or be possessed by Germany?

5) Do you believe that Germany alone can make you feel happy and fulfilled?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, go see a therapist and don't run for public office.

I love Germany, too, and think the language is the most beautiful, despite what others say!!! I'd live there if I could.

If you're German or live there, then I'd expect you to love Germany.

I'm Greek and I love Greece. I live in the UK and I love that too, for all its faults.

Surely you're not suggesting that we should all hate a country in perpetuity for something that happened over 50 years ago before most of the current population was even born ?

I am sure most Germans love Germany. If you love the country, honor it by capitalizing its name!!

Ja. I am from Halle, Saxony-Anhalt. But I love my country. But I moved to America some years ago and miss it dearly.

It is not unusual to develop affinity for certain countries other than your country of origin.

It just means you find the people and the culture facinating.
