I have been having some strange stomach issues, bad headaches, and now 6 days before my expected period/10 days past ovulation I am having some stomach cramping (similar to the cramping that usually accompanies my period). I took a pregnancy test last night and it was negative, but I am just wondering if you think I took it too soon and there is still a chance of pregnancy? Thanks for any help.

To answer Christina's question-yes, I used an Ovulation test and BBT Charting to know the day I ovulated-that is how I know that it happened on the 5th.
Thanks to all of you who have answered so far. I want to be pregnant, so it is hard for me to wait!

I think it's very possible that you took the test too soon-wait until the day you expect your period. Then test again-this will provide you with more accurate results.

Good luck!

Taking a pt six days prior to your expected period is wayyyyyy to soon to produce a positive. The positive result is due to the presence of a certain level of pregnancy hormones, which simply are not at detectable levels until two weeks+ after conception. Some women don't test positive on tests until a week or more after their period is LATE. Take the test the day of your missed period, and retest a week later if it is negative the first time. Or you could go to the doctor and have a blood test done. But yes, there is a good chance you may be pregnant based on the date of intercourse and yes you would have gotten a negative test result that early regardless of whether you are really preg or not.

It is too soon for a HPT to have a positive result even if you are pregnant. Did you use an ovulation test kit to know when you ovulated? The most firtile period is 1-3 days before ovulation so you definitely have a great chance. Pregnancy symptoms, unfortunately, are a lot like period symptoms. Try to relax and not be completely consumed by it (HA easy to say huh?). Otherwise, you can throw your menstrual cycle out from stress and make it that much more difficult to concieve!

There surely is chance of pregnancy. Sounds to me like it may be to early for testing. Wait until a day before your period or when your period is due. If you have been trying to concieve relax and try not to stress ( been an issue for me) I am so anxious and excited to get pregnant. Good luck and best wishes :)

Yep, you tested way too soon! Wait until the day you are supposed to get your period and re-test. Also, there are some tests that you can take a few days before your period... I think EPT makes one!
Very Best Wishes!

It takes the body 4 to 6 weeks to realize that it is pregnant..symptoms is boobs hurting bad..headachs..feeling tired all the time..smelling everything all around you..and feeling queasy once in a while and maybe some spotting..not happy with your home test go to your doctor they will give you a blood test that is more accurate..

It's too early to tell from regular tests. Try not to think about it too much, you'll drive yourself mad. Wait seven days, then see. Fingers crossed.
