don't forget youkilis and pedroia under positives

i'd say JD Drew (i'd also add lugo to your list)

jd drew is batting .230 w/ 4 HR and 25 RBI (keep in mind that 2 of his HR and 7 of his RBI were all in one game)..he's not even that great of a fielder to be honest...

anyway dice-k is 7-5 right now...with a 4.52 ERA...he was at one point 7-2 (having won 6 straight decisions)

sure we put a lot of money into him...but guess what we haven't been putting into him...RUN SUPPORT...yes he's gotten run support on his wins....but in 2 of his 5 losses....he was given a COMBINED 1 RUN OF SUPPORT...

and his last 2 losses he was given a total of 3 runs of support (combined)

he lost in the 5-1 loss to arizona (the last 3 runs weren't given up by dice-k)...the 2-0 loss to oakland...the 8-4 loss to cleveland (i believe he gave up 6 of those runs).....the 3-0 loss to seattle...and a 2-1 loss to toronto

in dice-k's 5 losses...he's been given 6 runs of support...including 2 games of ZERO SUPPORT...and 2 games of 1 RUN SUPPORT...if the red sox simply scored a few more runs he could easily be 9-3...maybe 10-2...

don't count out the lack of run support as of late....i mean wakefield was lucky to get the win when he gave up a run through 8 innings and the sox only game him 2 runs of support....
don't forget that dice-k is also 5th in the american league in strikeouts

Dice-K is 7-5 ERA 4.52 and batters are hitting .257 against him. Drew is 230-4-25. Dice-K will win 15-18 games this year and I believe his ERA will come down and he will improve as the year goes on. It's not easy making the transition he has made and he will improve. On the other hand the Red Sox are getting zero from Drew and I have to believe Red Sox management is really disappointed. You would have to say Drew is the bigger Bust.

J.D. Drew is the bust and so is Lugo. Dice K will end with at least 15 wins. He should have three or more wins already if he got some type of run support and this is from a #3 starter and someone who is trying to get acclimated to a new country and league. Give the guy a break. Oh and Yankee fans, don't throw rocks at glass houses. You also paid millions for a Japanese pitcher. At least our guy is still in the majors! How's your big purchase working out for ya?? That's what I thought.

I wouldn't say either has been a bust, although Drew has been a little disappointing so far. He missed alot of time with injuries, which you would expect from a guy who's injured every year.

What I don't understand is why people think Dice K is such a bust. He hasn't been an ace so far, but it's only 3 months into his MLB career and he's struck out 85 batters and only walked 27. Remember how badly Hideki 'Groundzilla' Matsui struggled when he first came over? I wouldn't consider him a bust so let's give Dice-K a break.

i love sox fans.. idiots. JD DREW has been in the majors for 11 years. and he hasnt produced at a 1st round draft pick level ever.. and dont try to argue that he had 20 homeruns and 100 rbis
Dice K is a ROOKIE! he pitched in japan , which is AA in america and he is only 25. he is not a bust

Dice-K no doubt...I was hoping Drew would do well but with his history I wasn't really expecting much. Dice-K on the other hand I was so hyped I thought with him, Curt, and Beckett we could have three pitchers with 17 plus wins. I keep hoping he will come through and pitch like the ace he thinks he is but for right now he is a disappointment in my eyes. I am not giving up on him yet though...I think he will be a very good pitcher....I hope he has a great second half and changes my opinion.

Of course, it's Matsuzaka-sama

With that much amount of money that the Red Sox have spent on him, he should be doing as good or even better than C.C and Josh Beckett.

I thought he was going to be a great 13-0 pitcher, but now he's just one of those average pitchers in the line-up that no one talks about.

Drew

i only say dice-k because of his price tag
100 MIL Gross spent on him (50 to talk and 50 contract)

he should be puttin up better numbers than teammate Josh Beckett

and ill tell you the real positive: Kevin Youkaliss
finally broke out of that once-in-awhile player to man the 1B spot, making David Ortiz pretty much the permanent DH. Ortiz can now rest and concentrate on his swing, and Youkalis can get his much deserved playing time

but yea Drew didnt cost 100MILL lol
