I took a home prego test yesterday around noon, it said positive, so I went to my dr's office and took another, got the results this morning, negative, took two more home pg's now both are negative. Excuse my language, but WTF! I know none of this was first morning testing, but I am now 29 days into my cycle, usually 28 days. And these tests are made to detect the least amount of HCG. Can anyone help? Thanks ahead of time for answers...

I did that a few months ago...tested positive at home..then, tested positive at the DR (urine)...next day I started my period. My blood work came back negative. Apparently, you can have pregnancy hormones when you're about to start your period!! No wonder we have PMS!

Did you use the same brand for all 3 tests you took at home?

You could have gotten a false positive on the first test. Or, maybe the first test could detect a lower amount of HCG. Dr's use urine dip strips that can detect at a level of 20+ in most cases. Some home tests can detect at 20, other not until higher. Best idea is to wait a week and if you still haven't started, take another test. If it is still negative, see your Dr because there has to be a reason you have not started

Was it a blood test at the dr's office?

Were the tests you took at home different in any way from the first?

Some people start off with a really low hormone level. Give it another day or two and test again.

Have you tried a blood test? That test is usually more accurate. If you're still concern, I think you should call your DR ASAP. I don't really know what's going on. Sorry

that sounds strange. the tests are very accurate. i have only heard of people getting false negatives because it was too soon for the hormones to show up.

is it possible that you misread the stick? if the last 3 tests you took were negative it sounds like your aren't pregnant now, if you ever were.

Wait another week and test again if you don't start.
