Y = 4e^2x + 1
dy/dx = 8e^2x
dy/dx = 8e^2x + 2 - 2
dy/dx = 2(4e^2x + 1) - 2
dy/dx = 2y-2
Is that what you were looking for?

let u = 2x
du/dx = 2
y = 4.e^u + 1
dy/du = 4.e^u
dy/dx = (dy/du).(du/dx)
dy/dx = 4.e^u x 2
dy/dx = 8.e^(2x)
