I'm from Canada but I dont understand the common thought in USA about iraq.
The only reason usa went to war is because of the "weapons of mass destruction". that was show to be a complete exageration and none were found. US completely threw that contry into chaos, and for some reason, USA thinks if they could have control of the country, they could make it a happy place to live.
USA is still in Afghanistan fighting a war where the everyone is below the poverty line.
Why is GWBush still in power????
is the whole country brainwashed by the news to really understand what is happening?

as shown by the voting, I can see over 50% support for GW Bush.
A question to ponder, why doesnt Canada or Mexico or 95% of the other countries have to worry about terrorism.
I'm sorry but I believe war supporters are living in fear. If you are that concerned about terrorism, why not use the soldiers abroad to stand guard in USA? At least then, they can enjoy their families. Oh but I'll bet you will say, they will start sending missles by fed ex..

Well first off I understand why we are in Iraq and Afghanistan much more then I understand why so many Americans want to be attacked again by terroists just so they can have something to whine about. Second America does not want control over either of those countries when infact their Gov't has said themselves they need troops to stay there until at least 2008 so they can try and gain control. 3rd Afghanistan is more about rebuilding their country then anything. My friend just got back from serving a tour in Afghanistan. Many countries not just the us are there building roads, schools etc more then anything and I dont see where offering humanitarian aid is bad but then I again I am not selfish either. I have more then I need and if it were possible for me to do so I would act as a missionary and go help myself but with 5 children I just can't make it happen in my life at this time. And finally if I were brainwashed by the news then I would be against the efforts in the middle east just like so many others. The media shows only the bad things and none of the good. American Media is showing what anti war people want to see.

You responded your own question with the map. u . s . a . of america isn't a territory, a mixture of custom, language and so on. it’s a concept. To be American is to have a sturdy conviction that you've self assurance in and are keen to take care of to the demise the rights of a human beings to self rule. each so frequently you listen someone examine with the U. S. as an empire. the U. S. isn't an empire, we are a democratic republic. Empires are held mutually loosely through stress. The forces that bind the U. S. mutually are area of our society and are deeply rooted interior the yank soul. We believe that with the help of team spirit, we benefit ability and prosperity. particular, u . s . a . of america has its issues. yet attack the U. S. and any usa will see in basic terms how dedicated the yank anybody is to protecting freedom. at the same time as no longer a utopian society in any way, human beings believe that what we are doing, as a rustic and a human beings, is sweet. in a lot of strategies, human beings aren't any different than the different usa. we opt to stay in peace and provide for our households. i imagine what separates human beings from maximum countries is a really sturdy experience of nationality with out being fanatical.

If you actually believe that the 'only reason usa went to war is because of the "weapons of mass destruction"', then you are starting with a flawed premise which negates pretty much the rest of your screed.

Obviously, your view is tilted very much towards the Bush-hating side and no amount of reasoning will alter that.

Have a nice day.

First, we are currently fighting a war on terror. There are terrorists in Iraq. We thought there were WMD's in Iraq. Satellite photos taken from US satellites confirmed that Russian personnel wearing chemical suits drove convoys of trucks from a suspected WMD factory in Iraq into Iran. We don't say anything because our relations with Russia are slowly deteriorating as it is.

If we did have control of the country, it would be a happy place to live. War is not all fun and games. People die. People get hurt. But it is for the good of mankind that we show the world that terrorism can be defeated.

We are in Afghanistan because there are known terrorist threats that still exist there. Canada did not get attacked. You all don't understand what we are dealing with. Over 3,000 of my fellow Americans died on 9/11, I am glad that we finally have a president who is willing to go after terrorists instead of sitting around doing nothing...like Clinton did:

Clinton ignored:

The first world trade center bombing
The first bombing of the US embassy in Sudan
The second bombing of the US embassy in Sudan

Someone brought up the fact that Clinton brought justice to those who caused those bombings. They are now in jail. But, putting them in jail did not do anything to stop future attacks. We must go after all terrorists, foreign and domestic.

George Bush is still in power because America elected him twice to do the job. He is doing the best job any president could do. I am thankful he is my president.

RESONSE:

Canada and Mexico don't have to worry about them because they are HELPING THEM! They are the ones who funnel terrorists in to America!

But, Islamic extremists will soon unleash a fury of hatred to all those who don't submit to the laws of Islam (Read the book of Surah in the Koran)

Why don't you worry about Canada? I understand that YOUR country has allowed Muslims to institute Shari Law in some parts of Canada!! How can you get any more barbaric than that? Canada is such a wussy country that Islam is allowed to run amuck while a GREAT MANY Canadians are SO anti-Semitic !
At least we in the U.S. are not laying around waiting for the enemy to destroy any morale fiber we may have had.

There were intelligence reports about weapons of mass destruction. Credible evidence. This was seen as a threat.

As you may remember, Tony Blair and George W. Bush invaded to neutralize the threat.

We don't want control of the country. We're trying to put control back on them, but they seem to assassinate anyone who tries to gain control back from the U.S.

G.W. is still the President because at the time of his re-election, the majority of U.S.ers still supported his decision.

Since he committed no crime, he cannot, under U.S. Law, be removed from office.

No, we're not brainwashed. We're powerless. In November, 2008, we will elect a new president who, provided he has support of congress, will decide how we will proceed to fix this mess.

American wasn't/isn't the only country involved, so the massive stupidity is shared by many including Canada.

The real reason and what they said is the reason are two different things. All politicians lie to support their agenda including Canada.

It's not America you need to understand, but world politics.

Bush is still in power, because the people haven't done anything about it.
It's easier to bi*** and complain, but much more work to do something about it
