Screens are what makes a laptop delicate machine to handle. Do we have any laptop with projection screen, so we aim the laptop's projection lens towards a flat surface like wall etc. and work. This will make a laptop very handy machine to handle. I understand that a few rollover screens have been developed. Are these available for laptops also ? If not available already, any development taking place in this respect ?

Sony had recently developed and patented a new technology, which eliminates the use or conventional screens. Its a beam projected into your forehead and you see the computer screen right in front of your eyes. which means computers wont need LCD or CRT screens anymore.
but it will take at least 10 yrs to hit the market, as the last time i heard abt it, it was only a concept which sony was planning to develop.

While I think this would be a cool feature, would you really sacrifice your privacy for this?

I say that because, any where you project your display, anyone around you would be able to read your screen. I don't think this would be a very good idea, to only have a projection type screen for a laptop. And no, this is not available to my knowledge.

Bearing in mind projection systems are HEAVIER, and MORE DELICATE that LCDs it's not a good idea with current technology.

They are now working on OLED screens, and given time i suspect these will come onto laptops, as they are less prode to damage fromm my initial look at the technology

The higher the technology, the more sensitive it's likely to be. You're talking about technology that's at least a decade away from practical commercial use.
