I like a realist who will weigh all the options before opening his mouth. A Pessimist is pain in the neck and an Optimist can lead you to disaster. I believe in the saying "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst"..........

I would like a realistic person; a person who can evaluate any situation he is going through and come up with the right solution. if you are an optimistic person then you think that everything will be fine, if you ever have to face a problem, and just do nothing about it. If you where a pessimist then you would think the world is always black; so being realistic is the best choice.

I would without a doubt say the optimist, some may call them dreamers, but they keep and hold on to a quality that we tend to loose as we get older that very childlike quality, and hidden strength of optimism, and resilience.
The Pessimist or (realist) as some like to call them selves have already given up, they have chosen to let the difficult things in life erase their dreams hopes and visions , it is so much easier to just sit back and say, everything is horrible, that's it, no work, no effort, no anything, I feel for them .. The optimist however says No! I will continue to see the silver lining, the rainbow after the rain, whatever cliche term you wish to use, this my friends requires true strength, this is choosing to "Never" give up these are the kind of people you want to surround yourself with , the ones that motivate, no matter how far fetched their dreams may be, every action in life began with a thought, lets choose the good ones!

Optimism is better. Pessimists can believe in inevitable failure so much that they never bother trying anything. An optimist confronts problems head on and with confidence because they only become an optimist by realizing their ability to achieve success.

Someone in the middle. Optimistic people aren't realistic sometimes, but pestimic people can be depressing.

Optimistic is a more positive sense.

Why would people like a pessimist?

Actually neither, I prefer realists. Us humans get into trouble when we go to extremes and we are better served by looking for balance, harmory or the golden mean. (however you wish to put it)
