Hi Poohbear ...! Hello overthere ..,
Why not ? According to my experience, there is no reasons to have sex, unless you have a physical problem,in that case you better have the opinion of your doctor .
Having sex with your partenar, depends on your feelings and physical needs.

The reason the Doctor says not for 6 weeks is because you are very susceptible to infections. Even if you breastfeed you can become pregnant and your body needs time to heal before going through another pregnancy. Once my son was 4 weeks old I went crazy and couldn't wait and after my post partum visit and getting the OK it was painful and not in the least enjoyable. I called the doctor and they said 6 weeks minimum and everyone body takes different time to heal so just wait a few more weeks and you can get back to a normal sex life. For me it took 11 weeks so every one is individual.

after your body heals (6 wks) it is fine. not RIGHT after having a baby because it can cause infection. Most people don't want to have sex for a little while after giving birth anyway.

As long as you wait til you are healthy again, then there's no reason not to. I waited about 3 weeks and I was fine. There were no problems. Just do what's comfortable for you and be careful.
