I saw SICKO last night and it is great! I have always thought Moore's films were interesting to watch, but that he was biased. But with SICKO he has changed his tactics and he really makes the US Healthcare industry look bad. In one scene, a uninsured man describes how he had an accident that cut off the tips of two of his fingers. He could not afford to have both of them put back on, so he chose the least expensive one (the ring finger for $12,000, the middle finger would have cost $60,000). I hope that the US goes with Socialized health care, because no one should have to worry about how to pay for care while your sick.

He could not have timed it any better. Look at what just happened to the woman in LA who died on the emergency room floor due to neglect. I have seen the preview for this and am looking forward to watching it.
this cuts across party lines, class line, socio-economic lines and lays bare the inherent problems with our healthcare system
I look at it right now that I took my son in for his immunizations and they heard a heart murmur. Now I have to find a pediatric caridiologist and we don't have health insurance. I work but can't afford it right now. So now I have to find the funds to take him and pay for his exam and ultrasound out of pocket to make sure nothing is really wrong or face the possibility of losing him if something is really wrong.
Our health care system sucks

I totally want social healthcare! We don't HAVE to do it exactly like Canada.

At least Michael Moore is out there saying something. A lot of people don't have the courage to take ANY stand. I am on the fence about him, but I respect him for being willing to take the punishment that comes along with the types of movies he makes. (I know, I didn't take a stand on him! LOL But I did take a stand on socialized healthcare - so that's gotta count for something.) ;)

That's me. I watched his documentary about Flint, Michigan and how much the economy went in the toilet after the GMC factory closed. I really liked it, and I liked him for a while until I did research on him. I am looking forward to watching that one. He's usually pretty entertaining.
