My great grandfather served in WWII in Germany and took this flag as a souveneir, and he gave it to me before passing away, I'm not interested in it,,,,I'm not involved in any antisimetic sectum.....but I now it's a collectible that it could go higher than that price, but I need the money and I'm selling it.

I strongly encourage you to at least view Sothebys (enclosed links below); they specialize in what you describe (not my endorsement, but it is my opinion). Additional options: contact your state museum, local historical societies, and your local or nearest university's history department. The aforementioned may be interested, however, if not, they may have points of contact that will greatly assist you.

Authentic Nazi Flag

The first thing to do is to get it appraised by someone who is an expert in that sort of material. I would contact a museum. One that would be good, would be the National WWII museum in New Orleans, www.ddaymuseum.org They can refer you to experts.

Second, once you get a solid appraisal, then you should contact several auction houses. Get an idea on how much they would charge you to sell the item.

Third, if the item is valued for less than a thousan, I would put it up on Ebay with a minimum that you feel comfortable selling the item for.

Auction houses are good if you solidly intend to sell the item, and it's highly valued. Auction houses have lists of clients with specific interests, and that's something that Ebay cannot promise.

Good Luck

Nazi Flag For Sale

I, too, have a Nazi flag that I'm getting rid of, but I'm looking at donating it to the Holocaust museum.

The one I have is huge, 9 x 21 or so feet. Unfortunately the moths have been after it over the years, but overall it's in pretty good shape and doesn't look as if it was ever flown.

I'd be very surprised if it it is worth what you say it is (I assume you're referring to USD in your valuation?).

If its worth that much don't, for heavens sake, put it on e-bay. Take it to a reputable dealer or two and get it valued properly. If it is worth what you say then it should go to a proper auction for war memorabilia, not an internet auction.

Antiques Roadshow.

It certainly is NOT worth that kind of money. Have it appraised before you make a fool of yourself trying to sell it at an overinflated price. Try E-Bay where anything sells!!

It's not worthy nearly so much. Millions of those flags were produced, and millions remain as souvenirs. I have an Afrika Korps collar insignia, which probably equals your flag in value.
