how do I take off a homepage that is adult advertising?

My computer started acting funny and now there is an adult homepage that comes up when I turn on my internet

I'd reccomend these 2, run each in turn
ADAWARE fro www.lavasoftusa.com (Free personal version)
also SPYBOT S&D from www.spybot.org (Again free for home use)


Also worth having in toolbox is CCLEANER from www.ccleaner.com again a free download, and a good general windows tidyup utility.

First download spybot search and destroy from download.com. Scan your computer with it and get rid of any spyware/adware and use the immunize option then

Do the following:
Click on the start button
go to control panel
open up internet properties
in the general tab in the first section you can change your home page

my suggestion is to "use blank" doing so will open your browser faster than asking it to load with a home page

Open your internet and go to whatever page you want your home page to be. For example, if you want your home page to be Google, then go to the Google website. Once there, pull down the Tools menu from the tool bar at the top of your browser using your left mouse button. Then choose "internet options. . ." with your left mouse button again. A screen will appear, and the first section of the screen is "Home Page". Click the "Use Current" button, then the OK button at bottom. This will reassign your home page to Google.
