Yet again, we must answer: THE ROYAL FAMILY COST US BRITS LESS THAN £1 PER HEAD PER YEAR. They bring in far more money than we pay toward their 'upkeep'. Better than a President any day, a head of state that has no say in politics and is a very good role British modal for the rest of the world. They are the Royal family of the UK, the Queen is the head of the Commonwealth. I don't think her family have many roles in Commonwealth countries.

serendipity - what the hell does having a royal family have to do with being indepentant.
american goverment is based on british goverment.
our royals no longer have any real power. they are there for tourists and to leech off the british tax payer.

No, I don't find them entertaining in the least, quite boring actually. I can't figure out why they are kept around they cost people a lot of money and are good for nothing but show and it's a very poor show at that.

They are fascinating to watch and most Americans are enthralled by their antics, but we wouldn't change our system of government for anything! Americans are far too independent to have a king or queen.
