If this happens to you, do not get mad at all, thats what they want from you. Instead consciously understand their belittling actions and see their intended conclusion from their perspective. Act wise and in control, but don't escalate the situation by responding in an angry or hostile manner.
Enter an encounter with a conservative person with the strong and confident realization that you are well and strong. There is nothing they can say or do that can undermine you. Your sense of confidence and self-worth will prohibit you from being vulnerable to a conservative person's total inability to relate to others and the sometimes noxious or cruel things that they say .

Just trying to help here and keep this war between the intelligent liberal people from degrading into the conservative mindset of kill it if you can not control it .

When I was younger, I had a more liberal political point of view, but I didn't really know much about politics. As I grew older, and gained more of a grasp on left & right, I realized that far more right/conservative positions made sense to me. It seems that more people are likely to be liberal minded when they are younger, and swing to a more conservative point of view when they are older and have a better understanding of human nature and the world.

I see it all the time: conservatives using facts, then the liberals calling conservatives names. When McCain was asked why the democrats wouldn't debate on Fox News, he said they didn't need to be on a propaganda channel. He didn't back his reason with facts, and it made him look like a spoiled baby. Of course, the republicans went on a liberal channel for their first debate. If liberals want to show conservatives up, they need to grow some chest hair and play like conservatives instead of hiding behind their rhyming slogans.

Like I've said a thousand times before, one of my biggest complaints about liberals is their blatant hypocrisy. Well, here once again is written proof from a lib himself. He states to not belittle or respond in an angry or hostile manner, and yet...that's exactly what he's doing.
