I would illustrate it through examples from history of popular movements that succeeded against formidable odds. Some examples would be the American Civil Rights movement, Indian independence, Zionism, and the defeat of Apartheid.

Why do you need for it to be interpreted? It's pretty much self-explanatory. Examples of people and events that have brought about change, or attempted to: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and the Civil Rights movement; John Lennon and his emphasis on peace and harmony; President John F. Kennedy. People have the power to effect change when they come together in a common cause.
