My baby girl is in a great bedtime routine since she was 4wks. She has her bath, change, feed, nurse then bed for 9pm every night and sleeps right through until 3am (last night until 5am) this is great and i am pleased however when she wakes at around 3am for her feed, after she has her bottle, change and is winded she will not actually settle back into a good sleep altho she is very "drowsy" she will wriggle and squirm around until around 5:30/6am then she is bright as a button ready to wake!! She doesn't cry when wriggling altho sometimes but not often she does make little noises and seems very restless. Anyone else had this "problem" and do you think theres something i could be doing to make her feel more relaxed??

I would say she is in REM sleep, this causes her to move around alot. If she isn't bothered by it (as it sounds) don't worry. Although if she is waking herself up from all the movement swaddle her and she might be move comfortable.

Congrats on the good sleeper!

Congrats on your baby girl. I have a 4 month old girl that does the same exactt thing.. so I am up the same times you are. I dont think there is anything that can be done. I just let her lay there until she falls asleep on her own. or give her the binkie and she seems content. The experts say that between 4-6 months they should self sooth and should be sleeping throught the night at least 8 hours.. This is my 3rd baby and I can tell you all kids are different no matter what the experts say.. I am an expert because this is my 3rd time around. Good luck with her and enjoy every coo, sound, feeling you are experienceing because you will blink and she will be in school. It goes so fast.

It is NOT a problem. Enjoy the fact that you have a contented baby. She is fine. Just make sure that there aren't to many blankets. A squirmy 6 wk old baby could get her head under there and not be able to breath well.

I wouldn't worry about it. If she is sleeping plenty, and happy as a clam in the mornings, then I wouldn't worry about it. Sometimes kids can just be restless. You just have to let them work themselves back to sleep. It will be okay. Just make sure she is getting enough sleep and happy. The rest will work itself out.

some babies are just morning babies. Mine still wake up at 530 am or 600am. Some people make a routine for them to your schedule but I rather be on the baby's schedule. Good luck

well my baby is almost 9 weeks old and he sleeps from midnight or 1am till 7-9 everyday since he was 6 weeks old.
but after that he is wide awake allday untill midnight again.. i try to get him to go back to sleep and calm him down because like you said your little girl does he seem drowsy too then awakes but sometimes he does go back to sleep and its usally 2 hrs after his feeding and he only sleeps then for about 2 hrs... my pediatrician told me babys need about 14hrs asleep.

maybe you could try putting her in a seat that vibrates. that seems to make babies calm down and sleep. My bassinet vibrates but if yours doesn't you can always just go to target and get one of those seats for $20-$30.

I think she's doing great. If she's in a great morning mood, she's probably getting enough sleep. Go by her moods to determine anything.
