it all depends on the pregancy and the baby and even how long your labor is - some ppl only are in labor for minutes some hoursss- it really has nothing to do with you menstruation.

I think back labor has more to do with the position of the baby then what happens when you get your period. You might have a tendency for more back pain during your pregnancy if that's what you experience in your monthly cycles, but it won't predicate you towards true "back labor."

So you never know until labor starts. I always have back pain with my period, but only had back labor with my daughter - second baby.

But I always take a heating pad to the delivery room just in case :-)

not nessesarily. the reason why some woman get really bad back labor is because the baby is facing toward the front. it's hard to understand but this is what the nurses told me. once the baby flips to face the back it will get better. if you have a bad back tho, (like me) it don't matter, it's gonna hurt, and the nurses will tell you it's back labor even tho it's just your back hurting. I hope this helps at least a little.

It is only called a back labour because the babys spine is lying on yours ie you suffer with horrible back pains in labour.
I suffer with bad back ache during my period but this didnt mean i had a back labour! Like i said the two spines have to be on top of each other.
Im pregnant 22 weeks with second child.
All the best X

Everyone is different, i thought i was going to have backlabor because my period is just the same. But truthfully when you're in labor your back and your belly hurts. Atleast mine did. The contractions hurt your belly and your back hurts when you arch or bend up from the pain. Good luck with it.

Back labor is when your baby is facing "sunny side up" or face up towards your abdomen instead of face down into your back. It puts terrible pressure on your nerves and causes contractions to be felt in your back.

It has nothing to do with your periods.

That has nothing to do with it.
Back labor is caused from the baby's position pushing against your back. Hurts like he||!!

i honestly can't tell you what your labor is going to be like b/c everyone is different. every pregnancy and birth is different even for the same woman... but i always had my menstral cramps in my lower back.. and i had every bit of my labor pain in my back.... i think it actually has to do with the position of your uterus.
