First, be sure to include foods with calcium and vitamin D in your diet.

Secondly, floss daily to lessen bleeding of the gums which is common in pregnancy.

Third, having your teeth cleaned by a dental hygienist or dentist early in your pregnancy may help prevent most gum problems.

Finally, many women are prone to more snacking esp. on sweets during pregnancy so you would want to cut back on that and be extra careful.

my teeth have become extremely sensitive lately and I'm 30 weeks, I didn't experience this with my last preganacy so it kinda came to surprise me. I asked my sisterinlaw about it, if it's something normal, and she said that she had the same problem too. she went to the dentist about it, and they told her what happens is your floride wears down fast in pregnancy, and her dentist gave her floride toothpaste, that she used like 2 times a week, and she said it got all better. basicly the reason why cavities happen more in pregnant woman fast is because the absense of reproducing floride I guess. I'm going in to the dentist with this same issue. I wish you luck

Buy a good quality toothbrush & ask if you are allowed to use a floride rinse every night.

Plus floss each day too.

My Only advice is to make sure you are brushing at least twice and day and Floss also MAKE SURE you are gettin more than enough calcium and take your prenatal vitamin. The baby only sucks calcium from your bones if it is not gettign enough!
