What makes us attractive?

What do you find most attractive in a girl? What makes you want to come over and talk to us? What makes you drool? Spill! but only serious answers ;)

Obviously, most answers here will be "it depends" and "everybody is different." Sure, that's basically true, but there ARE statistical norms that apply -- i.e. there have been studies done that demonstrate what PRIMARILY or for most people makes the opposite sex attractive.

New York University researchers have found that to be found attractive, a woman had to move in a feminine way - swaying her hips. Men, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences paper found, were more attractive if they moved with a "shoulder swagger".

The research also confirmed the waist-hip ratio measurement is key to attractiveness, with women's attractiveness being rated higher if their waist-hip ratio was small and men's being higher if their ratio was large. The ideal waist-hip ratio for women is to have a waist measurement which is no more than 70% of their hip measurement.

Other studies have added that "symmetry" is important to attractiveness. That is that men and women both are more attracted to people whose faces and bodies are more symmetrical.

Women with prominent, large, eyes are considered more attractive than women with smaller eyes.

Men with broad shoulders have been found to be generally more attractive to women than men with narrower shoulders.

Facially, women are found to be more attractive with a smaller lower face and jaw, because estrogen caps the growth of women's faces, making the eyes appear more prominent, etc. With men, the opposite is true with testosterone driving the growth of the lower jaw and chin. Women find strong jawed men to be more attractive.

For the human face in general:
-Your eyes should appropriately complement your mouth (bright eyes, animated mouth etc.)
-nose complements forehead (proportionality and curvature)
-cheeks complement chin (round cheeks, round chin; angular cheeks, angular chin)

Professional photographers use this rule of thumb for shooting portraits, it's what makes models fun to look at in magazines

A smile is a big turn-on for me. It won't necessarily cancel out all negative factors (like an abrasive personality), but it makes any girl instantly prettier.

Believe it or not, but men can often be as uncertain about approaching women as women are to men. A natural, friendly, nonsexual smile is an appealing quality that is very inviting to men. Unfortunately, I've found that insecurity leaves a lot of women unwilling (or unable) to interact at all, so they come off seeming cold and uptight. This is more unattractive than the imagined "flaws" which are causing the insecurity in the first place.

Really, just smile, be friendly. You don't have to act sexy. You don't have to be funny. Just show a willingness to smile and be friendly. Even girls whose looks leave something to be desired can go a long way on a warm, natural smile.

I like hair and eyes.
nice long soft hair is attractive
eyes, eyes are so beautiful, even with glasses to look into

but for the "drool" factor, i love when women wear skirts
legs and skirts make me "drool"

Grace - for me, is most important. One may not be good looking, but ever smiling, good natured and cool, these r the qualities matter for me. If u simply talk of the body, then of course, face for me is most important. Sharp features, big eyes and a smile!

Actually for me it's what she's wearing, even if she's flawed if she knows how to work what she's got, if she looks good and fashionable, and has nice hair, and a nice smile. And I mean fashionable not trendy, trends are not always good.
