Hey girl. Well to me it sounds more like song lyrics than poetry. I usually look for more concrete imagery in poetry, less abstract descriptions of feelings. The kind of language you use here could be really beefed up and reinforced by some powerful music. However the rhyme scheme is really nice, and you definitely convey quite well the feelings of loneliness and hopelessness. I've never felt like I wanted to die, so I can't relate, but it does invoke in me sympathy and compassion and a desire to help the speaker find happiness again. Good job. :o)

I may have to retire from poetry after that one. I think a little tear just formed in the corner of my eyes. Either that or the red beans and rice are even more potent on exit.
