We tried spicy food, but that didn't work. Plus, if it did, childbirth might be messy. Gatorade and not-so-solid food are a MUCH better bet if she's really close.
Sorry, but the biggest suggestion is DON'T THINK ABOUT IT SO MUCH. The anticipation will tighten all the muscles that are keeping the baby in.
The night my wife finally gave birth (we were hoping for 13th, got 17th), we ate light Chinese and rented more movies than we could possibly watch, distracted ourselves, and didn't say the word "baby" until we were actually in the car with 10 minute contractions!!!

I agree with the castor oil...it worked for me and for 4 of my friends once we were at/past our due dates. Of course, I called my doctor first to ask if it would be dangerous for the baby at all, and she said it wouldn't. Her only concern was the fact that it is a natural laxative and it would give me the runs :o( Sure enough, it did, but I also went into labor almost 3 hours later. The fact that it "cleaned me out" was actually not a big deal....it kept anything from coming out during the pushing stage. All I did was mix 1 tablespoon with about 6oz. of Kool-aid. Hope it helps!

There is really no way to make a baby come out that doesn't want to come out.
But she can try to make her labor hurrry up I reckon.
Ways that people say work is having a lot of sex, castor oil(which I don't recommend), walking a lot, some people say driving down bumpy roads. Etc...but if that baby dont' want to come out he/she is going to continue hanging on until he/she is ready to come out.

Going for a long walk may help but even if she goes into labour today she's not guaranteed it'll come today. Let nature take its coarse, the baby will come when its ready.

it depends on how far along you are. at 37 weeks i was huge and the baby weighted 7 pounds. i drank Castor oil at about midnight and by 2:30 am i was in active labor! my labor was short and hard but the baby was FINE! i was in labor almost 4 hours. she was born at 5:23 am and HEALTHY but she didn't weigh 7 lbs she weighed 6 lbs 13 oz close enough for me.

try walking up and down stairs ( like in a shopping mall), or my best friend drank castor oil mixed with rootbeer, ans she went into labor that night...the safest way is to just let it come naturally, or if the doctor thinks it is taking too long to go into labor, it can be induced while she is in the hospital

Hot curry,
lots of sex (though she's probably not in the mood!)
twiddling the nipples (helps stimulate the uterus, apparently)
and, I've heard, eating a whole fresh pineapple!
Good luck . . .

It worked for my Sis, 22 yrs. ago. But my Nephew, said he still had a bad taste in his mouth after he came out, He only came out cause it was so nasty, he said he needed something like the b**b, to wash that nasty taste outta his mouth.
