Finally after 2 months of searching I finally found my girlfriend and served her joint custody papers. She has 20 days to reply to the courts.
My question is:
what is the process i have to go through now that she has been served? And what am I looking foward to?
Thanks for your help.

I would think that a court date would be set and you would be notified. Check the papers to see if they put a court date down already. If you are doing this without an attorney, then call Family Court (USA).

I am sure she will answer and then ask for child support. So be prepared for that one too!

I wish you the best and very proud of you for working hard to get the ball rolling regarding your child.

I hope the server will sign an affidavit saying she was served. This should be put in your file by your attorney. If you don't have an attorney, please retain a copy of the affidavit that she was served. It needs to be filed with the court!
