game like wow, but free?

i really want to play a fun game like wow but it has to be free...any ideas?

Guild Wars is your best bet. It's a great game. Some folks like Wow better and some folks like GW better. I think you'll be happy with it.

Now if you need something that's absolutely free, this won't work, but it's pretty close to it. You have to buy the game upfront from a store, but afterwards there are no more costs. No monthly fee and no ingame fees for extra content. The company that runs the game is pretty committed to keeping it that way too.

Currently there are 3 games in the Guild Wars series, Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall. Each is stand alone so you can buy any of them that you want, however they do interactive together if you own more than one. If you really enjoy the game, you'll probably want to buy all 3 anyways.

The games sell for around $25-$50 depending on where you buy them. Just don't buy a used copy from Ebay or elsewhere. Used copies are worthless. You're actually buying the account keycode in the game and that's non-transferable.
