He will have to serve his time one way or another, the more he serves now the less later.

His job is already gone, so what else has he got to do.

3 months? Thats a long time to still have not gone to court. Since neither of you have the money for bail then I assume he is going to be doing the court appointed lawyer. But either way even if you had a paid lawyer they are usually able to get a person out. At this late a date there really isn't anything you can do but post bail. I guess you realize that you don't pay the bondsman the full amount of the bail but a percentage?

The court date can't be that far away at this point and as another said since he already lost his job he should just chill. Sure 3 months is a long time and it is unpleasant but in this day and age even a first DUI gets a harsh sentence. And he was involved in an accident as well. So it is probably better to just do some more time now rather than get out and have to face going in again.

He has no job and is obviously not paying rent or anything now. He has no car I assume and once he does get out he will have a suspended license and all sorts of things that are going to cost money for a long time. So better he stays in and gets a better deal in court. Sorry to say.

Maybe you could put a little money into his account which most jails have. It would allow him to buy extra snacks, socks and sometimes a small radio...... to make things a bit more bearable.

If he was a good person, he wouldn't have been drinking and driving and wrecking a vehicle (or more). People who are good AND responsible don't do things like that.

I think he needs to stay in jail and think about all this and you need to quit whining. You say he didn't kill anyone. So you want him out so he can try again?

I do not have sympathy for him. You need to stay supportive as his friend and be there for him but if you don't have the money, you sure don't need to be borrowing it from someone else.

It's called growing up and being prepared and quit expecting others to bail you out everytime you run into a problem. Hopefully you will both learn alot from this experience and be better people because of it.
