opinion on converting to another religion?

If converting makes you happy then go for it !

Belief in ones religion is a highly personal thing. It is not like a Chinese menu where you take one from column A and another from column B. Converting to another religion for example because your husband to be is of a different faith is not always the wisest thing, especially if the ritual involved is so foreign to you that it makes you uncomfortable. I have had friends who converted to their husbands religion so that the children would be brought up in his faith lead unhappy lives, and ended in divorce. It's a tough call, it works for some and not for others. My personal opinion is that it would not work for me.

I know what I believe, and it's a strong enough belief that I know I will never be converted to another religion, or any other way of thinking.

It's a personal choice, many people convert when they get married, it's less confusing for the children that come along later. Our country is founded on religious freedom, it's wonderful that people of different faiths can live together without violence, it's certainly not like that everywhere in the world

Everyone should have that choice. I say, if you are not happy with your present religion, then try to find one that goes along with your beliefs. There's one out there somewhere.
