I guess it depends where you are. It's just stopped raining here after 36 hours of continual rainfall put down more rain than in the last 6 weeks. There's some small-scale localised flooding and within about 50 miles of here there's quite extensive flooding with several homes and businesses flooded, roads blocked, train lines closed etc.

It's also a quiet news day and people have to have something to talk about, in the absence of anything else it's often the weather.

You have it slightly wrong here, we English always talk about the weather, we can brag about how it rained more on our own back garden than it did on others, how it rained here but not on the next street, how the dog came in and shook wetting the carpet. It is endless, we can spend hours looking out at the rain, or close the curtains and do the ironing. We could nip next door and comfort the old lady who gets frightened by thunder, sit and hold her hand getting in some brownie points for when you die. I could go on for ages, and have....................... The Lad..........

I'm in NW England - just got back from a few days holiday and it's rained both days since I got home! :-(

PS - stop being bored! Brave the rain and do something!

Everyone talks about the weather, but no one ever does anything about it - or so the ancient saying goes.
I'm having drought like conditions here.
I bet it's snowing somewhere.
