The bible DOES not say that, what you have done is portioned off a section of a verse to meet your own needs. Perhaps you should actually read the Bible and not parrot what you have heard someone else say.

If you are a true Christian, the unbelievers are who you would spend most time with. Jesus walked with everyone...

I'm not Christian, but I know more than you do, I guarantee.

What makes gay = unbeliever?

The bible also says things about loving everyone. I think that takes priority.

Well according to that, you're not to hang out with unbelievers, so if the gay people you befriend are believers, then there's no harm, you're still following the word.

Sure.

You are comparing apples and oranges, here. Plenty of gay Christians and straight non-Christians. So you need to rephrase your question.

On top of that - it sounds like that verse may be referring to weak Christians. If you are going to lose your faith by having non-Christian friends, maybe you need to protect yourself. (Or hide in your house?)

The bible says that if a person is an unrepentant sinner then they should be shunned.

One of my best friends is a Christian. She goes to church, she fasts, she communes and all that jazz. Still, when I came out to her, it took her only a second of weirdness and then she accepted me for who I am. So here's your answer.
