Both Nick and I are Catholics. Religion has nothing to do with our sexuality! We still have certain beliefs and those are not affected by what the Church has to say on the subject of homosexuality! We are people the same as anyone else. It is not for others to dictate........
Are you gay?

I hold on to my beliefs, although I am gay. For me, it is like anything else, just something to be overcome and kept in check. I don't think it's OK to be who and what you are and still think that it's all right to be Christian. There are some things we have to stop, some things we have to give up. I may probably never know what makes me gay, but I shall go on thinking about Jesus and God and the Bible, and I shall read it every day, and not fall into the trap that God accepts us, whatever our sexuality. Sodomy is not a sin, it is merely forbidden. I pray every day for the Kingdom of God to come, when all these complicated issues will be resolved. AND I do not judge anyone else, I listen and think and pray and read and meditate and TALK to other people going through troubles. These are very tough times.

i was raised christian and i am gay. i don't believe in literal translations of the bible (it also says not to eat shellfish and to take lepers outside the city and leave them there... old test. stuff) no one ever told me to hold on to my religion. no one! it's more likely that everyone will tell the person not to be gay... which is ridiculous. however, there is some great stuff on the web supporting gay christians... for ex, soulforce.
i'm not sure i can say i'm christian anymore... i do believe in christ, but i have a very different set of beliefs from most christians, and i learn a lot from other religions.
oh...p.s.... i like the part in the bible about david and jonathan...

I am gay but also a Christan and I have no problem with it at all why people go on about other peoples sexuality and religion is beyond me to me sexuality and religion are two separate things you can be gay or straight but I fail to see how it stops you practising the religion of your choice

Well I was never brought up with any religion in the first place, but if I had I imagine it would have made things worse.
Its just something faiths have to overcome, as many views in religion have changed over time to accommodate diversity and individuality.

I would think a reasonable proportion of Roman Catholic Priests have managed that. As I understand it some of them teaching in catholic boys schools have been very sucessful

God said "come all you little children" NOT "come all you little children that are willing to conform to today's society".
God made us who we are and that covers gay and straight i would not think anyone any less of me because they are gay so why should the church (ANY CHURCH). And i am not a in the god squad but as i remember i never read any place in the bible that it is man loves woman and only that way,

First let me say I am a man that has on many occasions enjoyed the company of other men.
Having said that, YOU CANNOT BE GAY AND BE ONE WHO BELIEVES IN THE BIBLE. PERIOD
It says flat out, in black and white, and I quote," MAN SHALL NOT LIE WITH MAN!"
God would not create you gay if he were against it.
Let me be very clear. I am not against being gay. I am against being a hypocrite.
Ask yourself this, how can you worship a god who literally set you up to fail?
