As someone said in an earlier post..Gerry is running the show here and I think he tells his wife what to wear, what color ribbons to wear in her hair, what to say and how to act. She certainly rolls her eyes alot when he is talking. I think he is running the show and decides which family members speak out and which dont. Lets remember Phil and John are schoolteachers so they are perfect to put out there because people would think they have such a love for children. The man is smart I have to give him that at least and knows exactly what he is doing.

As far as I can make out, the British press have done nothing but kissed the backsides of the McCanns. There has been non of the usual investigative reporting as with other cases. It appears to me that the whole press sindicate are treading very carefully here, and I wonder why, it isn't usual or normal and with every other missing child case, the newspapers have left "no stone unturned". Look at the way they treated Ben Needhams mother and family, why aren't they digging deeper with the McCanns?

That's a really good question you get a star from me. ;- )
The only people I have ever seen commenting on the case are members of the McCann family.
I would like to know, with all the faux pas that the McCanns make when they make speeches or post on their website, what exactly they are paying their PR people for. Surely these people are being paid to look out for their best interests? Instead they seem happy to let the public think less and less of this family.
I am not a supporter but if I were the McCanns I would be seriously looking at what their PR people are doing for their money and are they deliberately allowing public opinion to become an all time low by allowing these speeches and posts?

Her parents have been on TV locally here a bit. They are in Liverpool, and I am Manchester, so we have North West news. Her Dad seems very poorly really, but the mum is vociferous on the subject. Not seen any other rellys.
What about Brian Kennedy. Maddies great uncle? He is probably from Kates side as his name isnt McCann??

I was talking to my mum about this the other day. She said that if ANYTHING at all happened to us or our children whilst we were on holiday, she would move mountains to be there with us. She said there would be nothing stopping her and my dad from flying out to support us in any way - and was finding it puzzling that Gerry / Kate's parents have been seen commenting calmly from their own living room.
I know all families are different, but if it were my daughter who went missing (heaven forbid), my family would be actively searching, knocking on doors, stopping people in the street, being INVOLVED in the search for her, not organising press conferences and making cuppas for the journalists.
And the other thing whilst I am here - if I had other kids still there with me, I would not let them out of my sight! The McCanns are doing what alleviates their darkest fears / guilt (depending on which side of the fence you are looking at it from) but seem very happy to now leave the twins in the care of the very people they failed to hire as babysitters in the first place as they are 'strangers'! Doesn't make sense to me!
Good to see that Gerry and Kate still have time to jog & blog, though . . . .

That's something i have wondered about. It does all seem to be Gerry's family. They are a very loud, outspoken lot. Perhaps Kate's family just don't a look in? After all even Kate has to check with Gerry before she speaks.
