With my job I walk about 10 miles a day. The most important thing is to have comfortable, broken in shoes. You won't get fatigued and you won't get blisters. That can really ruin your day :)

You have to train your muscles for the different kinds of terrain. Practice walking up steep terrain or steps. Do a little more each day.

First, wear the boots in training that you will be wearing on the walk. A little Vaseline rubbed on the feet will help prevent blisters.
The best way to train for a walk is to do lots of walking. Carry your kit in training so you'll be accustomed to the weight when you do the 80km.

this may sound stupid but if you go on a tread mill assuming you have one weigh your self downwith a back pack full of bricks or flour bags that way when you take your bag off youll feel like your levitating and hills will be a doddle
