I think your spot on, its a crying shame what is happening right now.
The problem is I can see where Hamas are coming from why should they support a govt. (Fatah) that is pro western when time after time the west consistently lets them down.
Check the link below to see the map of the west bank, and you see how divided that place is because of Israeli settlements. Who in their right mind would accept that? its not even one joined up piece of land the palestinian areas are like little Islands, its bollo*ks.
Israel still in violation than more UN resolutions than the rest of the world combined!
Israel must be loving it, and any claims by the west that they want peace are complete fabrication, because its basic common sense that to achieve peace in the region, they need to address the roots of peoples grievances i.e Israeli occupation and settlements!
Im not religous but im praying.

there are assorted foreigners who stay in Gaza volenteering for international communities who're attempting to guard the Palestinians from Israeli terrorism that is going on daily over there. those foreigners have been in no way stricken via Hamas. as a remember of fact i do no longer think of Hamas has ever harmed any foreigners. Israel on the different hand has killed 3 foreigners interior the Gaza strip 2 british and a million American who they purposly ran over with a bulldozer. i've got not got any sturdy feeling approximately Hamas yet they're not extra terrorist then the Israelis are. Israel is killing Palestinians at a ten to a million ratio how can they declare to be the victims?

Being from the middle east myself, i have to say that its just the way people are over there. Since the Arabs entered the middle east in 7th century AD they have always warred amongst themselves, and with others...sorry but many arabs are simply bloodthirsty, and their aggressive and intolerant religion doesnt help. Also, there has never historically been an independent country called palestine, not one occupied by arabs anyway!
The name comes from a people caled the Peleset, who were from what are now greek islands in the meditteranean, they were one of the groups known as the Sea Peoples, and settld the area around 1200BC, The term Philistinia came from that, hence the Philistines in the bible, the name altered to Palestine over time. However the Arabs living in the area are NOT related to the peleset, philistines etc, they are the Descendents of muslim invaders from 7th Century AD. The arabs have no real history prior to Islam, andmostly lived in what is now Saudi Arabia, they are NOT native to Palestine, Israel, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon etc...however the Jews and christian peoples such as Assyrians, Maronites, Copts etc ARE! The arabs simply came and took their land.

I think this is evidence that Hamas wasn't just fighting against Israel--they are violent thugs who will kill anyone, including their fellow Palestinians and fellow Muslims. They have been laying siege against Fatah, taking over headquarters in Gaza, and then taking out and executing Fatah members in front of their family. Completely unjustified, undemocratic, faithless, and cowardly.
I don't know how Palestine can ever be free if they continue to fight amongst themselves and there are so many extremist groups willing to kill anyone who they disagree with. It's totally irrational and makes me feel very bad for the innocent bystanders in Palestine who just have to watch as their neighborhoods are destroyed or they are caught in the crossfire when Hamas, who is supposed to represent them and support them, instead turns to massive violence against its own people.
Edit: Responding to the poster below, it's ludicrous to blame the Jews for this. It's not Israel's fault that Hamas wants to stage a violent civil war against Fatah. The only one to blame when a Hamas gunman pulls a trigger to kill another Palestinian is Hamas.

Well, I guess Hamas better represents Palestinian people rather than Fatah, won the election right ?.
Of course, you don't need democracy, it's not in your culture, and although it may bring good to you, you don't 'meet the minimal requirements' to adopt the system.
Saddam however, I believe, best represents all you people.
Then the rest of the world can easily make their mind about the action to be taken in middle east.

In Gaza life is cheap and often meaningless.. I fear that its too late now, the wrath of Israel will soon fall on Gaza again and the bloodshed will be much worse.. Ham-as may have just started a war it cant win.

Hamas have shown their true colours again. They kill anyone that disagrees with them, including women and children. Even hospital patients.
I think the borders should be shut and let them rot.
