What will happen if you use 667mhz ram on a motherboard the takes 533mhz and 400 mhz

hope your right. So your meaning i wont need to do anything the computer will change it the ram speed for me.

BIOS will just read the SPD of that 667mhz stick and set the speed and timings for 533mhz since that is the maximum speed supported by your motherboard. Now, if that is a good ddr2 667mhz stick, it might have lower latency and be capable of tighter timings at 533mhz. That means better performance.

I don't know. I would be careful though. If you stuff up ur motherboard, most of the parts would need to be replaced (otherwise: $$$$$$$$$$$$$)
