A good country song tells a story. It is hard because there have been some great stories. I love George Jones and Tammy Wynette- Golden Ring and even more recent Brad Paisley- I'm Gonna Miss Her (Fishing Song) and George Straight -Give It Away (Hmm) all relationship songs.

This song tells what it is like for any military personnel coming home after any war. The brave men and women that go off to defend us and others are glad to be returning home. But, some find that home life has changed. They have terrible dreams and dark demons that others cannot see. I think that this song hits home for many Veterans and those that are in active duty.
I am not in the military, but I have a few family members that were and some that still serve.
There is, also, something that we Americans need to do. Look out for our own. The homeless in the streets. There are many of them that are War Veterans that society has shunned. Please remember that any time you see a beggar on the street he/she may have went to war for you. Show them kindness and respect. Don't just offer them money for a cup of coffee. offer them a whole meal with conversation to boot. You just might find that these people may be heroes, that think they are not.
Help them to get back on their feet. There are many that choose to live that way, but there are, also many that do not choose that life-style.
