I guess it is acceptable to those who use the word, and listen to that stupid music. Why? Who knows!

If they want to call each other names, so be it, although I am quite certain that it's not acceptable among the majority of the black community.

Yes, it would be used less if they wouldn't endorse it's use.

I live in FL, and I used to hear the FL natives use it, alot. It is so disrespectful.
I hear it used mostly by uneducated people.

I have always been of the opinion that it is used among people who don't have the brain capacity to increase their vocabulary.

people use the word racism too freely now and i see it all the time but i know it is politically incorrect to say but, when a Asian person calls names or makes you feel less a person who would come out on top in a racism case and the last time i looked any infliction of race colour sexuality or size was racism.

'Niggerland' was a place on the west coast of Africa where a lot of slaves came from. As someone from England is called English as someone from Niggerland was called a niger. I don't therefore, see any problem with the word at all.

I see our friends will not allow ni**er and so I substitute 'niger' with one 'g' but I'm sure you get the picture.

Until about 1979, all blacks were properly called negroes, not niggers. I was unaware that some of their so called leaders had made the decision, and went into a bank and asked for the negro teller. They said I should not let her hear me call her that. All my life that was what they were called.

yeah its funny hey and i do agree with u that if they stopped using it with each other then other non blacks will perhaps stop using it as well. It's derogatory if a caucasion person said it to them but if a black person said it to another it seems to be cool. I guess it's an in thing in the whole hip hop culture

your absolutley right I think that it started off as a mockery that made about us saying it now they say it all of the name like as if name calling doesn't matter. They don't always mean it for it to be offensive but can lower ones self esteem. Personally I think that helps them as it gets people to think twice about others saying it. You can disagree but inside you know I'm right.

I'm part African American and it's NOT acceptable for ANYONE to say it. It's a cultural problem that needs fixing. And yes, once the AA community starts respecting themselves more than we can demand it more confidentally.

If I am correct, black people used to say it to each other like we say dork or dweeb or whatever the word is today. It was their way within their race of putting another black person down.

you are afraid of them and people let other people control them by doing so. Fear is a powerful weapon. Also I believe the reason it is acceptable because their is a feeling of remorse for slavery, segregation, etc. etc. What a tangle web we weave when we learn to decieve.
