i'm around 17 years old now, and my foreskin cant retract to the back of the penis head yet. i'm worried the older i get, its gonna get harder to retract it. I've been streching the foreskin back(sumtimes during masturbation) almost everyday now for the past 2-3 weeks, but the max i can strech it is to the middle of the penis head, then it starts to tighten and it hurts a bit. Is this normal??? Will it get better and loosen up if i keep doing it?? i would like 2 get answers n advice frm those who hav gone thru this same prob and also others who know bout this matter too....and 1 more thing, i strongly dont want to undergo circumcision.......i know its better in many ways but i dont prefer....unless its really necessary........

You don't need circumcision. I've gone through this and I'm pretty sure it took me over 3 weeks for everything to be well. But eventually everything got perfect (I haven't had problems since). If you are really tight, you can always get a cream. I posted this in another thread, but it should have what you're looking for.

Some may say that circumcision will fix it, but circumcision's risks include reduction in sensitivity and pleasure, and making masturbation more difficult according to studies (including a few new ones from a few months ago). Oddly enough that's how it was promoted in the USA since masturbation was bad, haha. There's a reason why the USA is the last remaining advanced nation still doing it, and even so, it's getting a lot less popular (it's now as low as 14% in some states). Save that as a last resort, as you're doing. That's only one of the few risks, there's more listed here, in addition to the studies and statistics:

I was the same when I was younger, and now it slides fine with no problems whatsoever. Just pull back your foreskin when you shower the most you can without forcing it, and rub the head. That should encourage it to separate from the head. This is probably all you have to do, since this is common especially with teens. You just haven't 'used' it enough, as in masturbation and washing it. The same goes for sensitivity; the more your rub it the less sensitive it'll get (start using water when you shower then rub a little more each day).
And if its rather tight, you can get a cream that works in almost 95% of cases. It's 0.05% betamethasone or betamethasone dipropionate. And unlike circumcision it is very cheap ($12 in the USA), painless, and you don't risk decreasing sensitivity/pleasure and making masturbation more difficult.

Try that cream. It works. Doctors often just mention circumcision since its a surgery that brings a lot of money to them, especially in the USA.
If you have questions, e-mail me from my profile since I've gone through this. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

There are many ways to deal with phimosis. The first are, obviously, stretching exercises. There are many kinds of stretching exercises and all of them can help. You could just sort of continue with what you're doing - pull the foreskin as far back as it'll comfortably go and just hold it there for a few seconds, making it stretch out. Over time it'll loosen and pull back more easily.
In another kind of stretching exercise, take 2 fingers (1 from each hand), "hook" each finger on either side of the foreskin opening, and stretch as much as possible in opposite directions (like increasing its radius) without pain or discomfort. Stretch and hold for a few seconds, then let it relax for a few seconds, then repeat the process again for a few minutes each day for a few weeks to a month. It's best to do this after a shower/bath when the skin's most flexible (see link 1 for more info and other stretching exercises).
If that doesn't work after about a month, ask a doctor about certain prescription creams. In one study, these creams are the most cost-effective treatment a doctor can provide (link 2, names of the creams in the link). But be aware that these creams may also take up to a month for the full effect, but you might be able to speed things along by combining them with the stretching exercises.
Since you're able to pull your foreskin about halfway back it's fairly mild. The above treatments are probably all that's necessary in your case. It's highly unlikely that your case would require any kind of surgery, and you can safely ignore any comments about getting circumcised as the first/only viable option (it actually isn't even better in many ways). See the remaining links for more info on phimosis.
So try the methods above, knowing that it may take up to 2 months (at worst) but most likely only 3-4 weeks. Good luck with whatever you try.

Please ignore the people who think circumcision is the answer to every question. Your foreskin is an important body part which will give you much pleasure over the course of your life, and removing it because of minor tightness is just an insane idea.
Some guys can't fully retract until 18 or even older, so it could be developmental, but at 17 you can probably nudge things along a bit.
Read Jorge's answer carefully and do what he says -- he gives excellent advice.
Try changing the way you masturbate: http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/beauge2/
There is a lot of very sensible information at http://www.cirp.org/library/treatment/phimosis/ (not the same link as the other one -- just the first part is the same).
Time will probably take care of it. But circumcision (also known as male genital mutilation) is definitely not anything you should even consider.

I think you are right about resisting circumcision. If you can make it work for you as is....then that is the way God intended you to be.... without medical intervention.
There are plenty of previous statements on this forum about this question. Search them out. I am circumcised so can't help with first hand knowledge.... except to say that you haven't given it much time to work.. three weeks vs 17 years... give it at least 8 weeks before you start to question your progress. Your skin cells need time to re-generate to a more elongated format...
