Since most of America hates the guy, they probably will not care unless they are obviously San Francisco Giants fans. I for one would tip my cap to the guy. Whether he took roids or not, you got to still hit the damn ball. You can take all the roids you want but if you keep getting under the ball, on top of the ball, or not even hitting the ball, your gonna do nothing. Records are meant to be broken, there are no specifications to how they can be broken. People says he sucks, he's bad at this, bad at that, he can't do this. Whatever, fine take away 200HR, and he's still the only 500-500 (HR/SB) man in the history of the game (already the only 400-400). You don't have to love him, you don't have to congradulate or commend him, but at least respect him. It is still a feat that hasn't even been done by guys who used steroids or cheated to hit their home runs. Giambi, Canseco, Raffy...they took roids, they couldn't do it. It proves it still takes a lot of talent to hit those homers, steroid aided or not.

convinced, i'd be unhappy. No it hasn't ever been shown that Bonds has taken steroids, inspite of the indisputable fact that that's usually assumed that he did, through his higher performance at a complicated age in baseball, and his astounding substitute in visual allure. many human beings round Bonds were arrested and served penal complicated time such as Victor Conte, proprietor of BALCO, and Greg Anderson, Bonds's coach. yet Cheater Barry's supporters continually cover in the back of the "he hasn't ever examined useful". a lot of gamers have taken performance improving drugs, yet very few have examined useful. Giambi by no ability examined useful, yet admitted in courtroom that he did. Bonds stated he believed he replaced into taking "flaxseed oil", which maximum have self belief replaced into "the clean". Come on, the guy's a cheat. And Henry Aaron isn't satisfied Bonds is breaking the list. Why do you imagine he does no longer plan on attending the video games even as Bonds might want to break his list? Does that sound like a guy who likes Bonds and needs him to break his list?? i will stay a baseball fan, and root like loopy for A-Rod once Bonds breaks the list. it may take until eventually Bonds is executed taking section in, yet finally, he will be uncovered for the cheater he's.

He didn't take DRUGS, he took body growth enhancing supplements to gain an advantage over his competitors.

AND they were not "legal," but rather they were in an unwritten category of "not illegal to use, but frowned upon nonetheless."

Baseball leadership (namely Bud Selig) is to blame for turning a blind eye to the overt usage of HGH, Steroids, and other growth supplements. Everybody knew that this stuff was going on, but nobody bothered to say anything.

Bonds jumped on the band wagon back in the '90s when his performance started slumping. He's cheated on his wife, on his taxes, cheated in baseball, and cheated his fans. He also would get angry at kids when they came up to him asking for an autograph. He was their favorite sports star, and he turned them away in an unprofessional manner.

Bonds is reaping what he has sown, and getting the proper recognition he deserves.

Thanks to these questions, I'm able to get a cross section of the World's population that probably live their lives always jealous about celebrities and in a pissy mood every day! These negative, uneducated, brainwashed by the media people will probably riot, beat their wives and children and commit suicide when Barry Bonds reaches 756 HR's. That is what their personalities reflect through their answers.

I will definitely honor Barry Bonds in an honorable manner with applause. He's never done anything bad personally to me, and I'm supportive of his quest to surpass Hank Aaron's record.

It's shameful when the US population are acting anti-American when they do not believe in "innocent until proven guilty". These parasites would probably join Al Quida in a heartbeat and turn their backs against the US.

Barry Bonds is one of many who are under the microscope for alleged steroid use, but never tested positive unlike the other players who still play the game, but are not getting harrassed or abused like Barry is.....

His personality is just based on a fictional character by disgruntled reporters who just happened to get brushed off one day by Barry and started a smear campaign against his demeanor. The said he hates children, the elderly, does not like to sign autographs and is always in a foul mood. This was another lie about Barry.

I met Barry Bonds many times at my place of employment and around my neighborhood. He smiled at children and the elderly, shook hands freely, signed autographs with no problem, and even though he was around the SF Bay Area during the time his knee injury occurred, he never brushed off anyone and gave his time to others because he recognized how much they supported his career even though he was in pain. He was never self-centered, snobby or a jerk.

In closing, everyone has their opinions about people, but if they border on terrorizing Barry Bonds or wishing misfortune upon him, the City of San Francisco or the SF Giants, you're wasting your time. Try focusing your negativity towards terrorists, criminals and people that want to hurt the innocent, not people who are truly innocent through facts and solid proof.

First, it was NEVER "allowed"!! Second, I don't think "America" will honor or not honor Barry Bonds. He is not a national hero, that is for sure, so why should the country honor him.

Chow!!

It was not allowed before 2003. But they didn't test for it, so it was kind of a wink and a nod IMO.

I think the crowd at the ballpark should rise as one and turn their backs as he rounds the bases. Bonds is a disgrace.

by mourning. from what ive heard and read the * is a possibility...which i love because it will be a permanent reminder of his inability to measure up on his own. but i know that when he does (as much as it pains me to admit that he will) i know i will mourn for a while because that day will be the end of much that is right and great in baseball
