Depends on type of rock....
either way they have their own style that beats every other style anyone ever came up with and they can and have done so many different types of rock you have to like them because they have sung a song u like.

Since you didn't put a time frame on it, I think there are only three possible answers to this question: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Led Zeppelin. Anything else is someone promoting their personal favorite of the moment.
I pick Led Zeppelin. The Beatles seem to sound more dated as time goes on, and the Stones have become such caricatures of themselves they are in danger of pushing themselves off the pantheon...
