And what type of cable is used to connect to switch?

Manageable switch is managed by network administrator, such switches have console port for management, we can create vlan's on that, it may be L2 or L3 switch.
Whereas Unmanageable switch comes with default setting, we can create vlan's on that. and it is only L2 switch.

An unmanaged switch is just a connector. It allows all computers connected to it to send and receive at the LAN bandwidth and to all parts of the LAN (Local area network)

A mangaged switch allows computers to be directed. Part of the LAN or not or even on seperate LAN's and allows the switch to manage bandwidth available for each computer.

All switches (at least all current ones) use ethernet cable to connect.
