The main reason for cartoon characters retaining a particular outfit is to make each character more easily recognizable for the audience. Unlike live action shows, which have actors who have distinct faces, most cartoon characters have much less detailed facial features, so clothing and hairstyle are key to telling them apart.

How else are you going to recognize those famous cartoon characters if they aren't wearing their signature outfit? It just makes the character! =) You can't change the outfit of Superman or Spiderman.. so why would you change cartoon characters?

Erm, that's partly through fact majority of the comedian author individuals are adult adult males so they do no longer relatively care with reference to the clothing and additionally, the concentration is "meant" to be on the character, no longer the clothing, yet I do see what you mean. additionally, have you ever observed that all and sundry of their clothing are relatively unflattering? relatively unfair to the characters, truly.
