Why do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Stop singing and answer the question, lol . . . .

Because the guy who wrote "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" was IN CLASS at the time, bored - so he thought he'd write a song. The trouble was, they were singing that stupid ABC song at the time. Thanks for the chuckle - fun question. :-)

i just noticed that lol, i have no idea. Maybe it has something to do with it being easier for little kids to remember the same tune, instead of two separate.

Maybe because knowing the alphabet is knowledge and that means the sky is the limit to what you can achieve

good question:) I guess maybe so that the melody could play in kids head and they will remember much better by the melody of the song.
