Does anyone else find it strange that in the week the McCanns have put aside to grieve, there seems to be more activity surrounding her disappearence?......

My point is, whist the McCanns have been swanning around on their world tour, there has been nothing regarding really searching for Maddie.
As soon as they take a week off, all of a sudden, people are searching...just seems odd to me!

Am I missing something Faith??
Did they or did they not leave 3 kids, under 4 in an unlocked room, by a pool, noit just once.
Did they or did they not only check on those kids every 30 mins ( or hour 0r 20 mins depending on which version of events the McCann refer to?)
Are you a mother??
Would you leave your kids like that?
They are in my opinion, totally to blame for what happened that night, whether or not they are involved in her disappearence.

Why is it not the time for it??
When is the right time??
I'm not thumbs downing you, you are entitled to your opinion Faith, I've been slagged off for asking the question...I'm only asking what other people are saying!!
Wind your neck for christ sake lady..its just a question!

In answer to monkeyphil..I have children and am very against the McCann's.....I am also in the same profession as them....and find it more than despicable they can leave their children...but I find they've made it worse by standing by their statement they see no difference in "having dinner in the garden, while the children are asleep upstairs".....how big is their garden then...perhaps we should watch them when they get home to ensure the twins don't suffer the same fate.

I bought my two girls up alone...I never left them even for a bottle of milk...I would have gone without than left the children unattended.....if I ran out of something I went without till morning.....that's good parenting.....My nearest shop was directly opposite our house as well.

These two should be prosecuted as soon as they hit British soil if we are to send any sort of message to the parents of this Country.

How can we as Nation have parenting classes, social services teaching young parents how to bring up children if something like this occurs we do nothing.

It's my opinion that the ones who stand up for the McCann's are the one's with no children or have suspected views on behaviour and parenting.

I found it strange that it came after the German reporter asked them the question about their involvement. I read I think in BBC article I cant remember something that was a good point. A reporter said they just can't turn it off when they want and turn it on when they want. I think they need to decide..this is we stay under the radar now and look on foot and let the police do their work or decide to keep her out there like they have been. Shawn Hornbeck and Elizabeth Smarts parents pretty much stayed under the radar and did not get this kind of press but both their children were found. They were not living in the lap of luxery and were not recieving millions in a matter of a few weeks. They are stories that keep things positive for me however that there is a possibilty of her being found.

Amanda, I agree with you, as for all the McCann supporters, take no notice, whenever anyone dares voice an opinion about how the McCann's should never have left three toddlers unattended in an unlocked hotel room they jump down peoples throats and start spouting insults!

I criticise the parents and I have children. Nobody in their right mind would leave 3 toddlers alone in an unlocked hotel room next to a swimming pool.
I have a nine year old who I wouldn't leave alone.
It's pure selfishness and stupidity, as long as they had a few good nights out all's well. Well it's come back to haunt them, they are professional people who should have known better.
POWDER, Amanda doesn't need to be thankful it's not her child as I'm sure she's got more bloody sense than to leave her child in an unlocked room, alone in a foreign country.

im with you on that, it is strange, coinsidence that the letter turned up just as they picked a week to gather thoughts and grieve ?- (glad i don't operate that way)

what i have also noticed is that there seems to be more intense news this week then the previous weeks when Madeleine first went missing,

my point being, what has been covered up by the media/government whilst this case was fresh, or is it a coinsidence that this week has been an eventful one

monkerphil - most of us on here have kids and we agree that the mccann's were irresponsible where their kids are comcerned. what the hell do they mean 'time to grieve' emotions aren't switches that can simply be turned on or off.

Monkeyphil I don't know what you've based that assumption on but I have criticised them and I have children.

How can they 'schedule a week to greive'? What are they? Robots? Do they have a'greive' button that will get it all out their system just like that?

Yes, it is a bit odd that all of a sudden there are leads.

monkeyphil - I think you will find most of the people who critisise the mccanns HAVE got kids - I have 4 and would never leave them alone even though they are a lot older. Are you saying all people with kids leave their children therefore we should pity them - I dont think so! and in answer to the question yes it does seem strange.

one thing that did get me when the letter turned up was on the news on the TV it had a tag line something like "Maddie's parents upset at letter"
well duh!

To be honest I don't entirely get why they have been jetting round the country and visiting people etc, but then I haven't been following it word for word like some.

seeing as they've received a tip that their daughter might be dead and buried in that area of land it's pretty understandable that they wouldn't want to continue jetting around,
now if this had been scheduled like 2-3 weeks in advance then, yeah it might be a bit of a coincidence.
