Have you ever seen the episode from MTV Real Life, "I live a double life."? This guy lives a double life where he's really gay but to his friends and bestfriends, he shows them that he's straight by getting all the girls phone numbers at the clubs and being a playboy by even making out with them. He shows his friends that he's straight that way because he's scared of what his friends would think of him if they found out that he was really gay.
At other nights, he goes out to gay clubs and totally changes his outfit and his looks. He says he is most comfortable in his real skin and outfit and goes out flirting with other guys and being himself.
So he continues to have this lifestyle, until he finally said it was time to share it with his closest friends because living the double life, changing outfits for different occassions, etc., was getting too much for him to handle. So one by one, he would tell his friends. Overall, some stayed as his friends and others he has lost, but at least he knew who his real friends are and he didn't have to live the double life and try to hide his identity anymore. It's true that the truth will set you free.
So, if you feel that you should fall into peer pressure because you're not ready to expose your true self, then do so, but be aware of the consequences.
If you're totally not gay and you just want to prove to your friends that you're not gay, then go ahead and hang around with some girls. You could ignore them, too, but if this is what will get them off your back and you want them off your back, then why not. Feel free to do what you like.
Good luck!

I would say ignore, if your gay i would think you would not be able to get it up and that rumor would be just as worse as being gay.
Back when i was in HS all the guys who were gay had GF's. Course everyone knew they were gay anyway, its quite obvious.

If you have to prove you're not gay, you're a step above the rest. Women are curious, and men stay out of your way.

Why should anybody have to prove their sexuality to somebody? You know who you find attractive, and as long as your partner knows that as well, that's all that matters. Just say "I don't have to prove spit to you to feel secure about my sexuality."
