If you mean Neil Armstrong, the first person to set foot on the Moon, he is still alive. Here are some snippets from the Wikipedia article ...

Neil Alden Armstrong (born August 5, 1930) is a former American astronaut, test pilot, university professor, and Naval Aviator.

Armstrong announced shortly after the Apollo 11 flight that he planned not to fly in space again. He was appointed to be the Deputy Associate Administrator for aeronautics for the Office of Advanced Research and Technology. He would serve in this position for only 13 months, resigning from it and NASA as a whole in August 1971. He had accepted a teaching position in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Cincinnati.

After retiring from NASA in 1971, he avoided offers from businesses to act as a spokesman. The first company to successfully approach him was Chrysler Corporation for whom he appeared in advertising starting January 1979. Armstrong thought they had a strong engineering part of their business and were also in financial difficulty. He acted as a spokesman for other companies, including General Time Corporation and the Bankers Association of America.

Along with acting as a spokesman, he also served on the board of several companies including Marathon Oil, Lear Jet, Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company, Taft Broadcasting, United Airlines, Eaton Corporation, AIL Systems, and Thiokol. The last he joined after serving on the Rogers Commission investigating the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster caused by a problem with the Thiokol manufactured Solid Rocket Boosters. He retired from the position of chairman of the board of EDO Corporation in 2002.

I like the way your question can mean anything...Hereafter comes Space, Armstrong, who's still alive I believe, and subject to a clause in his contract with NASA (bigots within NASA, usually not interested in NASA , but Power for a Few)....
Often enough on a birthday party, or having a good old the Company BBQ...Space becomes the Topic, when Sport, Politics and last but not least, who gets the next promotion are ruled out because last years party ended up in jail that way....

My, I was 12, and In Netherlands Prime Time TV sensation virtually unknown to the people..... My mother, who was somewhat nearsighted, got me out of bed, to witness this Historical or Hysterical Event...... Depends on Your Nationality.... Proud Tears and Swollen Chests, don't see straight and miss al the fun.....

I'm sure of the fact, that the director in Houston, had a blunder making his sneaky Debut, partly as a forewarning for the TV years to come, but also out of Piety, towards the Risk Astronauts are willingly facing, when they decide to agree on a mission.......

It's so long ago,.... The first screening of Neil Armstrong's first step on The Moon, was in fact the rehearsal here on Earth....Earth had to wait a couple more minutes, for the First Real Steps,, when the Camera was ready.... In the meantime, we could witness, the slomo's and stopmo's to throw us of track of this massive security breach....
Just goes to show, that I'm still an Illegal Alien, Squatting on a Moon, as a stowaway, and still haven't returned

Neil A. Armstrong came back to Earth and was just as psychologically and emotionally stable as he always was - and still is. He went on to many successful endeavors such as teaching engineering at the University of Cincinnati and hosting an aviation program on the cable channel 'A&E ' called "First Flights". He is still living and participates in speaking engagements on the subject of aerospace around the world.

He is alive and well, living in Texas, and enjoying retirement and doing a few speaking engagements once in a while.
