I don't see why not. The prisons wouldn't be so full, there would be less crime & the government could tax it & make $$, instead of spending $$ to take these people to court & keep them in prison for how many years!! Whoever wants to smoke it is going to no matter if it is legal or not!!!!

Yes, it should. It can be controlled like alcohol. Endless studies have continously shown that the detrimental effects of marijuana is far less than either alcohol or tobacco, especially if eaten or drunk instead of being smoked. Yet alcohol and tobacco are legal? Never mind other perfectly legal drugs and even foodstuffs that's far worse for your health than marijuana. Pot has always been legal throughout most of the world and has been used for thousands of years and many different cultures for medicinal and recreational use. Its a natural herb not some chemical created in a lab. Our food's more chemical and harmful with all the added stuff in it. It was only in 1937 that the US made it illegal and many other countries followed suit. I don't know if the US was THE first but they were one of the first.
More and more countries these days especially in Europe are decriminalising marijuana, which may an option if full legality is not desired.
I would never encourage my children to smoke marijuana just I won't encourage them to drink or smoke tobacco. Its choices they must make for themselves when grown.
Legalise it and you control it, make money off it and separate it from hard drugs and druglords.

Yes. For a number of reasons.
*Its never been proven to be the Direct cause of death.. IE.. over dosing.
*The effects on a person is less damaging short and long term than drinking. (which is legal)
*It would boost our economy. (manufacturing, packing, distribution, wholesale, retail, tax, ect)
*It would save tax payers money (court apperances, jail time ect)
Before you think I am some pot head, I am not. I haven't smoked anything besides a cig since I was a teenager experimenting. I just know alot of ppl who were either killed, became perminately disabled or extremly abusive or abused because of drinking. It makes you think that why is one thing legal and one of the bigest industries this country has were another substance is less distructive and is illegal.

Why Not? So many people smoke it anyway! The government makes money locking people away for having it, but they could make way more if they just packaged, branded, and taxed it like cigarrettes. It seems to be much safer than alcohol, and tobacco.

Itis legal in the state of Montana for medical purposes. For recreational use, no. I don't believe anyone should use any drugs just for pleasure.

Yes, regulate it and tax it and leave people alone with their own bad habits. The same laws that apply to alcohol could be used for pot.

No. There are things that can't be legalized, marijuana is one of those things.
If you have a son or daughter, would you encourage your kid to use marijuana ? If you answer is yes, then...

I think it should be ok to have people carry a small amount of pot on them or have a small amount at thier home for their personal use.
Not bags and bags and plants all over the house.....
