well Criky, why even OPEN the door then? security screen won't stop a GUN ya know? I trust EVERY BODY! hehe not really, but sounded good eh? I keep my doors locked when they are shut, and I have a cat that alerts me to any noise within 10 freekin MILES .. cuz my dog won't, apparently...and GUESS WHAT! you are not guaranteed safety on this earth no matter what! stayin safe is one thing, but being afraid of everybody is a chance you lose at meetin some of the BEST people out there.

Never open the security door till you know who you are talking to. I am a door to door sales person. Maybe 70% of people do open after I identify myself and they can see what I want.

What security door. I live rural and know all of my neighbors. We all pack heat everywhere we go, even in the house. I' m sitting here at the computer right now with a colt .45 SAA sitting on one side of me and an AK sitting on the other and the door wide open without any screen even. We don't have any crime in our neighborhood and you can understand why. Idiot criminals don't f&*% around our neck of the woods. They like breathing to much. However we are cordial but vigilant with strangers.

I don't have a security door but I have a portcullis, does that count? Oh, and some boiling oil ready on top of the rampart just in case they get persistent.

I wish I had a security door. I trust few,and like you'd I'd talk through it. You don't know who you can trust anymore.I prefer living to not living.

I will leave my storm door locked but I will open my interior door. If it's someone I don't know, I keep my dog, phone and pepper spray with me.

I'll open the door but leave the screen door shut since it's always locked.
