You should buy new mascara every 2-3 months, because every time you open it, you're exposing it to air, which wrecks it. Plus, think of all the stuff on your lashes that you recontaminate the wand with.
But - who can afford that? Not me. I buy new stuff 6 months or so.
A GREAT TIP: To make your mascara life last longer, heat up a cup of water in the microwave & let the tube (closed tight) sit in the water for a few minutes. It will loosen on the inside and not be as clumpy. Just like new! Don't forget to NEVER add water to the formula.

I am not sure of the website but there is a limit on how long you are suppose to wear makeup. I know my foundation says 24 months. I believe powder is a year that includes blush and eyeshadows, and i want to say that mascara is 3 months. Unless you get a eye infection of some kind then you quit using untill condition is clear and then start with new mascara and or eyeliners. I would also change to a new eyeshadow brush as well.

Good Question! I've never actually used a Mascara until it was all gone. I usually buy a new one when the old one starts to get thick or clumpy. Usually around 6mths or so. It depends on the brand too. I've had some that lasted a really long time but eventually I think they all just go bad.

I could usually go atleast 3 and 1/2 weeks without buying new mascara but it really depends on whether you apply alot througout the day or not(atleast 4 or 5 times a day). if you do then I would suggest buying two tubes of mascara and then use one at a time.
Once you use the first one then buy another one but not if you don't have enough time or money or whatever then your safe knowing that you still have another tube of mascara left.
Okay? okay.=]
Thanks for listeningâ¥

When it starts to smell weird, I throw it out. I'd say around 3 months. Don't keep it longer, the bacteria that grows isn't good to get in your eyes. Also, when you use ur mascara, don't pump the "wand" in there like 5 times. Once is enough. Anything extra will cause bacteria to build up quicker.

The politically correct answer is about every 2 months. People usually wait until it is gone or starts to dry out.

Until it gets clumpy and doesn't look right wich usually starts after using mascara everyday for 3 month.
So i would say maximum 3 months.

The longest you should wait is about 3 and a half months! If you wait much longer than that, some seriously gross stuff will start growing in it! No joke!

It stays a few months (i guess), though I use it often.
However, I noticed that after maybe 1 or 2 months, it doesn't apply as nicely as it used to when I first bought it.

there was a survey done on how long things last e.g. tooth brush changed every three months, pillow cases, every four days, pillows, every two years.
and for mascara, I would say two years, even though my mother has been using the same shawdow for ten years
