Why can't some people understand that?

The people who are so called 'anti mccann' and want them prosecuted for their child neglect have no opinion on their job or their status. I couldnt care if they were bin men or brain surgeons, you should NEVER leave young children unattended at night, in an unlocked room, on the ground floor, with a swimming pool in between you and them, whilst you go out for drinks and tapas.

2 good 2 miss - I can fully accept that people are going to have different opinions on this, what I mean is that whenever someone talks about action being taken against the mccanns all we hear is that 'you are jealous of their status'

I completely agree with everything you've said. Its a definite NO in leaving your kids alone, how naive could you be, believing your kids would be safe for a second?

For those who think these types are repetitive and boring etc, etc, then why do you answer?? Surely if the questions werent getting many answers, then maybe they would stop, but I assume your not that intelligent, by winding replying and stirring it up.

Why can't you understand that many couples left their children 'alone' that evening and went out for a drink.

The hotel offered a 1/2hourly checking service which the McCanns chose not to use, preferring to do the checking themselves. Had they used the hotel service like the other couples and Madeline had been abducted what would you be saying now?

The questions ought to be about the hotel security service, the McCanns felt their children were totally safe. They were wrong and they made a very poor decision, but I simply do not agree that they are guilty of neglect.

When my children were babies on occasion I have left them asleep 'alone' in the house whilst I was in the back garden mowing the lawn. So by your book that makes guilty of past neglect?

I argee with you , young children should never be left alone , and it does not matter who you are , or for what reason.

Yes everyone has there own opininion as to what should or not happen to the McCann's , but after all this is not about the parents , It's about a little four year old girl ,

Why are people worried as to the parents feelings , if they had stayed with there children, I doubt we would have even heard of the case , as it might not have happened

I agree with you - kids no matter what age should not be left unattended regardless if the parents are lawyer, doctors or a stores clerk....it's just bad parenting. One would think that with 3 kids they would have just enough experience and common sense to do otherwise. It is said that the McCann's tried for a very long time before they could have Madeline via IVF - their actions does not support this. They even went out all day during their holiday and left the kids at the creche only to return in time to give them a meal then into the creche again.

When people start asking stupid questions, like if the McCann's are doing "it", how does Kate find time to highlight her hair, does Kate ever let go of the cat, etc then it has nothing to do with the fact that they left their children alone. And it looks like a witchhunt to people like me.
They thought their children were safe, otherwise they wouldn't have left them. They were wrong. They are going to have to live with the consequences of their actions for the rest of their lives. I can understand that.
Have a look at Salsa-0eater's question and tell me if that isn't just winding people's feelings up. There is absolutely no reason to suppose that the parents had anything to do with the child's abduction, but there goes someone trying to wind people up.

I do not believe it is any of your buisness what the McCanns done.They will be punishing themselves for leaving the children & have already paid a very high price.Yes it was wrong to leave them,how many people have done it & got away with it.Why can you not leave them alone.

Why take it to heart? You know why you feel the way you do. If other people want to make assumptions then that's what they will do regardless of what you say. Convincing someone that your opinion is valid is sometimes near impossible and in the case of the McCanns I think that everyone should agree to disagree.

It easy to stand there and say what you would or wouldn't do my thought have always been with poor little Madeleine, who was taken from her bed and heaven knows what she's gone through. As for her parents, well they have to live with the consequences of their action.
