Just last week I was unknowingly on an Indian reservation and one of the "security officers" told me that they could impound my car for trespassing and charge me $10,000 to get it back. If I would have gotten in my car and ran from the tribal police and gotten back on to american soil, would i get into trouble?

First of all, unless you were on Private Property (different from reservation land), Tribal Police will not automatically impound your vehicle. And two, yes, if you flee tribal police, depending on the contracts with other local government, they can continue to pursue you, or involove the proper authorities under that particular jurisdiction.
It is not like tribal reservations are another "country." We are granted certain liberties, but someone who just happens to have their car on tribal lands will never be towed simply because they are not Indian and their car is on the land. That's rediculous.
The "guard" was screwing with you.

Not in the state of Montana. We have several reservations and there are highways that go through them. Unless you were speeding or doing something wrong they cannot do anything. Also, unless you are on someones personal property they cannot do anything either. Tribal police are just like all police. They cannot just impound your car for no reason and yes, anyone can go to the reservation. Like I said before, there are highways that go through some of the reservations. Here in Montana, there are two national parks that the reservations are on, Glacier and Yellowstone.

Reservation land is not considered "Private Property". Believe it or not, it is American soil. Same laws apply.
Reservation police are police just like your city police.

They probably saw that you were naive about the nature of reservation lands and were having a little fun at your expense.

=="security officers"== on reservations they are police just like anywhere else.
Well I suppose in the situation you describe you COULD get in trouble but I seriously doubt they woudl have done anything. However if you had committed a serious crime they would probably get federal marshals after you to bring you in. and back to face a judge or trial on the reservation.
